A Birthday Poem To Me

EVERYDAY I ask myself, If I'm the right guy for you
Do you know that I care and I'll always be there
Even its to die for, or to ride for you
Everything I divide for two
My money, my love, some of Laniah's hugs
And I'll even give my time to you
Matter of fact - I'll give my rhymes to you
And then every line or two; I would combine to express my love and define it two
Cause I was lucky in finding you
and the deeper I look inside of you
I realize why I'm with you
- No one else gives me the time you do
- and your SMILE is like the FINEST JEWEL
- and your heart is like the sign of truth
Which is why mine cries for you
So no matter what I try to do
or where this life confines me to to
there's no one else God could assign me to
cause I only have EYES FOR YOU!

True Friends

He sent you, my friend, to help tame the beast within me.
You taught me what it means to be truly happy.
You put in some decent work and went more than that extra mile
Now I know what Solomon meant when he said a "glad heart makes you smile. "
I see God's Beauty in u, by simply looking in ur eyes.
My vision broadens more and more b/c I now see a clearer prize.
My relationship with Jesus, strengthens each time we are together,
whether by phone text email or chillen on black leather.
My life has changed dramatically, I wish you could only see,
all the differences you've made, I'm like a new me.
I don't care what ur doing now, I know the end result.
So until I see that tree bear fruit, my Father I will consult.
You're worth getting my hands burnt, cuz you don't belong in the fire.
I'm here always pulling but climbing out has to come from your own desire.

More Than the Gold Metal

Oh so many scars that have left my heart numb,
Cuz makin money isn't the only way to earn an income.
My way was anger that covered true emotions,
for me it was easier to cope, when life was in slow motion.
Twenty-one years this heart harbored pain,
But with a tolerance level like mine, comfort was sleepin in the rain.
Life began gettin dangerous,my anger was at its boilin' point,
then Jesus stepped in and my life He chose to anoint.

Dark and hidden memories were unmasked, now addressin em was my task.
That wall that blocked my tears, God said make it disappear.
Cuz with crying comes dealing and without tears there's no healing.
So let em flow He said, but I couldn't get this thru my head.
Yeah, I let Him in a lil bit, but completely, I didn't commit.
However God doesn't settle, He wants more than the gold metal

The Exchange

have you ever ... prayed so long and so hard

and had so much faith that someone would change

the days turn into weeks, weeks to months

months, a year but you see no progress being made

just when you feel like you're ready to take a break...

IT HAPPENS!! you finally see the effects of all that hard work

now your a little wore out, and you need that person

to put in some work for you, to be the new captain kirk

Then after a while you realize

that this person wants to fly the Enterprise, but without you on it

You're taking way too long to meet they're expectations

So instead of returning the favor, they just quit

"I don't believe in you," was said to your face,

"What's the point cuz you'll never change"

What would you do, if they gave up on you

And that faith, it wasn' t exchanged????

By the looks

By the looks of the situation its hard to determine,
Whether or not she can be trusted
But in her mind there is a longing to know the truth
About her future, about her present
But most of all about her past
This part of her life is so vague,
It seems as if nothing were there
With every smell, every picture,
Every touch of the skin
A small piece of memory is caused to unlock
Although defeat may be looking her in the eyes
The victor within will never let her back down
By the looks of the situation it is hard to determine,
But by the will of her Saviour, it will be determined

To the Kids...

Consecrated, set apart
Chosen children that's what you are
Gifted with talents, from the Father above
Unique and special, you won't fit the average glove

God, Himself has put dreams inside you
Follow His path and let the Light guide you
He'll keep you from falling into hurt, harm, and danger
He has great plans for your life cuz He's never been a stranger

He's watched you grow from inside your mommy
His hands been on your life since you came out her tummy
You're handsome, you're beautiful, and blessed beyond measure
You are momma and daddy's amazing lil treasures!

My Long Lost Sis

To my long lost sister
We grew up on the east side
I don't know where I'd be
Had u not been down to ride

You're always challenging me
To step out and grow
Even when I ain't feelin' it
You inspire me to "Go"

You're definitely my role model
A person of my tribe
One who I can trust, fa sho
Cuz u have JC as ur guide

I care about ur thoughts
I care about ur opinions
Don't ever hold back
Cuz I'll be here listenin'

To me ur that big sister
I wish I always had
I thank God everyday 4 u
Even when I'm mad

U set a great example
Of how to stay on the grind
And how to "Get Busy"
Cuz u don't be wasting time

You constantly let Jesus mold you
Into the person He has for u to be
Every time I'm with you, I leave
Knowing how to be a better me

You never let go,
You never back down
You keep reaching out
For the lost to be found

You have a beautiful heart
that God has truly used
To touch the lives of plenty
And not one will He lose

I know this ain't too original
Cuz Lamont already did this
